Claudette Kathryn Chamberlin “Kay” was born on October 6, 1935 in Leola, South Dakota to John and Ida Marzof. She was born in to German heritage. She and her sister Marian spent most of their summers on their grandparent’s farm. It was there they learned to speak the German language. Soon they moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota where their father went to work as a watch repairman and jeweler. She attended school through the tenth grade there and moved to Missoula, Montana where her father was hired for his trade. She graduated from high school and came to Renton, Washington to be with her sister and help with her kids. Then finally went to work for Seattle First National Bank. During this time she met her future husband Bob and later married him in February 1955. She then became a Boeing wife and a stay at home mother. Kay had four boys, William who preceded her in death, Robert Jr., Richard who also preceded her in death due to cancer, and John. Boeing then moved the family to Louisiana, Missouri and then back to Renton. She was a beautiful dancer, she and her husband Bob travelled to many Polk Fests. She taught Bob how to waltz. Kay was musically inclined; she played the piano, organ and the keyboard. At this time she took up learning computers.
In February 2016 she and Bob celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. In passing she lost her mother and father, her sister and two sons. She leaves behind her husband, two sons, her sister, step-daughter, son-in-law, 3 step-grandchildren 13 great grandchildren along with many other relatives.
A memorial is scheduled for September 16, 2016 12:00p.m. at Greenwood Memorial Park Funeral Home Renton, WA 98056
