Chuck was born and raised in Renton, Washington by Hank and Helen (Helland) Sorenson. Chuck graduated from Renton High School in 1966 before earning his BA in Business and Finance from the University of Washington in 1971. Shortly after college, he met his wife Linda (Merritt), and they were married 6 months later.
Chuck’s job relocated the couple from Kent to San Jose where they welcomed their son Chad. After a second relocation to Portland, Cheryl arrived completing the family.
Chuck’s heart and soul was his family and friends. He seldom failed to be at sporting events, concerts, plays, births of grandchildren, and important events for friends and family.
He was a man who took pride in showing up, every day, for those he loved.
After retiring from FSA in 2014, he and Linda took on the world and traveled as much as possible. They cruised the Caribbean, Mediterranean, kissed the blarney stone, and wandered the markets in Ephesus.
In between the trips to see the world, he spent time at the golf course and being a grandpa.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Sorenson and Helen (Hellend) Sorenson. He is survived by his wife Linda (Merritt) Sorenson, Chad Sorenson (Makenna, Callen, Malachi), Cheryl Sorenson (Dr. Stephen Lee, Soren, Elaine), Rodney (Mary) Sorenson.
