Charles Edward Kovacs Jr.

Charles Edward Kovacs Jr, born in Rockville Centre, NY on August 22, 1950 passed away on April 24, 2024 (at age 73) at the Puget Sound Veterans Hospital after a short struggle with cancer. He was a long time resident of Mercer Island and graduated from Mercer Island High School in 1969.

Charles was a retired US Army medic and a 17 year customer service member at SeaTac Airport, where he transported visitors in the need of assistance to and from their flights. He was a HAM radio enthusiast and enjoyed volunteering for the Special Olympics.

Chuck, as he was known by many, is survived by his brother Roger (and Frankie); sister, Laura; nephew, Andrew (and Jessica); great niece, Lily; great nephews, Ethan and Benjamin.

He was predeceased by his parents Charles Sr and Marguerite and his nephew Roger Jr.

The family cordially invites you to join in honoring Chuck at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Washington on May 16 at 2:30 pm. We request you bring your thoughts, prayers and fondest memories. Please arrive no later than 2:00 pm.
