Cathy passed peacefully at home on July 19, 2022 just a few days shy of her 70th birthday.
Cathy was born on July 29, 1952 to Louise and Ray Hahn in Porterville, California, but grew up in Taft, California. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Greg, Bob, and Ada.
Cathy had many interests and lots of natural curiosity.
Cathy received a total of 3 college undergraduate and 2 post graduate degrees. She spent 3 years in the U.S. Army followed by 5 years as an Air Force officer. She had a successful career in the Information Technology industry including employment with California State University, Puget Sound Energy, ConneXt and Seattle Public Utilities.
Cathy enjoyed women’s sports. She played sports in high school and in the military. She liked working out attending aerobic classes and strength training until back issues prevented her ongoing participation. Even when she couldn’t participate in person, she was a regular attendee at both UW Women’s Basketball and WNBA Seattle Storm games. Cathy’s picture even appeared on the front page of the Seattle Times sports section when the Seattle Storm won the league championship in September 2010.
Cathy was an avid dog lover. Over her life, she had many cherished pups including Beauty, Blackie, Hercules, Buffy, Gumby, Pokey, Maisie, Maxwell, and Ducky who gave her much joy.
Cathy will be greatly missed by her many, many friends. She is survived by her niece Catherine Hahn and former husband and forever friend Doug Leonard.
