Carolyn Beth Goodwin

She was born in Sunnyside, Washington on June 7, 1948 to William and Dorothy Korstad, the third of five children and was the beloved wife of Gary Goodwin for 46 years. They married on March 18, 1965 and soon began a family.

Carolyn enjoyed working as a childcare provider in the Seattle area for many years. She was with a small number of families over a long period of time, one for over 20 years. Those families often considered her a part of their family and she adored the children she watched as if they were her own. She took great pride in being a loving caregiver to children.

She loved long walks, faithfully walking 3-5 miles a day. She also loved traveling, decorating her home, working in her yard, listening to music, laughing and above all else spending time with her family. She traveled to her favorite spots in Hawaii with Gary and her children many times and traveled to Southern California a few times a year to spend time with her daughter and enjoy the sunshine and locales she loved so much.

Carolyn touched the lives of many people with her smile and gentle spirit, and maintained her wonderful sense of humor until the end.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Gary, daughters Stephanie and Shawna, son Ryan, grandson Jayden, her mother Dorothy Korstad, brothers Bill Korstad, Jr. and Paul Korstad, and sisters Anne Stottlemyre and Jennine Lenseigne as well as several in-laws, nieces and nephews.
