Carl was born April 29, 1922 at home 3828 Spokane St. Seattle, WA. He was a descendant of one of Seattle's early pioneer family's. He attended all his schooling in Seattle, the last being Franklin High School. He spent a short time in the Navy. Pearl Harbor had been hit and shortly there after the war was over. He worked with the Forestry for some time in Forks, WA. When he came back to Seattle he worked for a bakery where he nearly lost his thumb. He met Agnes Kessack (Aggie) when he was 19. They married Sept 2, 1941, later divorced in 1960. He was left raising a family on his own.
Bud is what he was known as, was quite a talented person. He was well known for his drawings and cartoons. In the 4th grade he drew out the Winnie the Poo story that went around his class room walls, as well as doing art work for his Mother's hook rugs. As a child, without his parents knowledge, he went flying in a plane that took off from the old red barn, Boeing's early field in Seattle. He kept pestering the pilot's until one told him, if he washed his plane, he would take him for a flight.. This plane had no floor boards or seat belts.
His favorite hobby's were drawing, gardening and building things. At the age of 85 he remodeled the outside and inside of his home. Eleven years ago he sold the back half of his property and they let him name the project Strawberry Lane, after the original name of the street he lived on. He had lived in his home for 69 years.
He retired from Lincoln Moving and Storage Nov 1, 1984, being a Teamster for 37 years. He had 32 years of retirement, and how many can say that? The last few years of his life he spent go to Museums around Seattle and Tacoma. He knew Seattle as well as the back of his hand. You would never get lost if he was driving, because he knew all the ins and outs!
Since 2008 he had helped his daughter Robin with Family genealogy and was in the process of having a family heritage book published. Family was the most important thing to Bud. He served God first and encouraged us to do the same. He was baptized in Spokane in 1964 at a Jehovah Witness Convention. The very most important person in his life besides God was his Grandson Jason. They had a very special bond that couldn't be broken. Jason was his best pal, whatever he did had to do with Jason in mind. Never a day went by without Jason being in his thoughts. Dad has left a big hole in our hearts and will be truly missed.
