After marrying, Bernice moved to Renton Washington to begin her life with Joseph.
In 1952 Bernice gave her life to the Lord at Gods Pentecostal Temple in Seattle, Washington also known as (sixteenth and fir).
Bishop EF Morris was her Pastor.

Bernice and Joe moved to Maple Valley, Washington in the 1960s where they raised their family 7 children 4 boys and 3 girls, and their nephew. Living on a farm, Bernice grew vegetables and flowers, she loved planting and watching things grow.
Having a large family she loved to cook.
A phenomenal cook, she baked and cooked dishes from her southern roots. Greens, fried chicken, potato salad., sweet potato pies, and jelly cakes (Daddy’s favorite).
In 1985 her husband Joseph Palmer Sr. proceeded her in death, and her life began a new chapter. Bernice became a foster parent and raised two of her great-nieces. She learned CPR and took classes to receive her Foster Care License.
She continued to support her family, raising grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She encouraged her children to give their lives completely to God this was her prayer for each of them.
Interceding on behalf of her family she was a prayer warrior. Not limited to just her family, as a devoted woman of God she counseled young women and men, encouraging them to live godly lives.
Living in faith she taught what she had learned, God is a Provider and a Keeper.
After many years of service under the Leadership of the late Bishop SD Leffall, where she served as Missionary and member of the Souls Stirrers Choir. Bernice became a member of Follow the Light Koinonia Church under the leadership of her son, Pastor Joseph Palmer Jr.
