Barbara was an advocate for the homeless, she volunteered her time at Strand Helpers shelter. She also cooked with Francois Kissel at Saint Mark’s Cathedral during the holidays. Barbara graduated with an associates degree in Criminal Justice from Green River Community College. She worked as a licensed private investigator. She was also well known for her work as a psychic on the Green River murder case. It is noteworthy that she never asked for, nor accepted, compensation for her work as a Private Investigator or Psychic.
Barbara was born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota to Mary Ann Kubik and Glen Herbert Patten. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Dale and James Patten.
Barbara is survived by her siblings; Audrey (Roy) Hoffman, Marylou Gilbertson, Richard Patten, Charles Patten, and Kathleen Stroman; her children, Erica (Michael) Pruett, Andrea Hanna, Sara Dela Isla, and David (Natasha) Faline; her grandchildren, Kenneth (Adam) Landis, Jesse (Leon) Hanna, Nicholas (Rachel) Martin, Elizabeth (Paul) Rivenbark, Christina (Robert) Newkirk, Justine (Alvaro) Gamboa, Sofia (Devon) Gamboa, Mary Rose (Emile) Le Chambre; And her great grandchildren, Emma, Raymond, Haley, Shawn, Lauren, Samuel and Xena.
Barbara’s memorial service and funeral will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Renton on June 6th at 12:00 pm.
