Shirley A. (Burky) Heffner, 82, of Reading, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012. She was the loving wife of the late Robert E. Heffner. The couple married on August 14, 1948 in St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reading. They shared 38 years of marriage before he passed away on February 21, 1987.
Shirley was born on October 5, 1929 in Reading, a daughter of the late Daniel E. and Miriam E. (Ubil) Burky. She graduated from Reading High School and was employed with Baldwin Hardware.
Surviving are two sons, Richard D. Heffner and his wife, Brenda of Leesport and Brian D. Heffner and his wife, Michele of Fleetwood.
Also surviving are three grandsons.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 391 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton. Family and friends are requested to meet in the cemetery at 12:45pm on Saturday to form a funeral procession. Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home is entrusted with Shirley’s arrangements.
