Marilyn Haley Shade

Marilyn Haley Shade, 51, of Exeter Twp., sadly passed away in Reading Hospital on Friday, July 25, 2014. In this sadness, there is beauty; she will live on in others because she was a Gift of Life donor.

Born in Harrisburg on January 17, 1963, she was a daughter of Frank Ellsworth and the late Marjorie Ann (Wallace) Haley. She was a 1981 Susquehanna High School graduate. After graduation, she attended and graduated Empire Beauty School in Harrisburg.

On September 13, 1986, she married Michael Robert Shade in Harrisburg. The two built a life together and are proud parents of Morgan Renee Shade.

Marilyn was a collector of antiques, candles and key chains. She liked to draw and enjoyed taking care of her cactus plants. She was an animal lover and an avid reader.

In addition to her loving husband, Michael Robert and daughter, Morgan Renee of Exeter Twp. and her father, Frank Ellsworth and his wife, Dot of Harrisburg; Marilyn is survived by a sister: Barbara Jeanne (Haley) Shreeve and her husband Randy of North Carolina and an aunt: Jane Kohn of Harrisburg.

Also surviving are her in-laws: Robert and Louise (Haring) Shade of Fleetwood and three sisters-in-law: Donna (Shade) Shiffer of Exeter Twp., Debra (Shade) Hutchinson and her husband, Scott of Perkasie and Linda (Shade) Jones of Topton and her two furry friends: Owen, her dog and Max, her cat.

A Celebration of Marilyn’s Life will be held at 10:30am on Friday, August 1, 2014 in Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of sharing before the service in the funeral home Friday from 9:30 to 10:30am. Marilyn will be placed to rest in the Cremation Gardens in Forest Hills Memorial Park following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to two charities of Marilyn’s choice: Junior Diabetes Association, 717 Market St., Lemoyne, PA 17043 and Animal Rescue League of Berks Co., 58 Kennel Rd., Birdsboro, PA 19508.
