He was the husband of Wanda (Clemente) Baker
Born in Norristown, he was a son of the late Paul C. and Ruth (Erb) Baker.
Joe was employed as a Road Foreman with PA American Water Company, Norristown for 27 years until retiring. After retirement he worked for Church of the Nazarene in Collegeville and then the Berks County Intermediate Unit.
Joe was 1965 graduate of Bishop Kenrick High Shool, Norristown. He was a proud United States Navy veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was also a member of St. John’s Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by 3 children: Rick Perez of Muhlenberg Township, Justin Perez of Dallas, Texas and Delilah Baker at home. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Jadin Perez, Kalib Perez and Leana Perez.
There was no problem Joe could not tackle, always finding a way to “improvise, adapt and overcome”. He put his family above all else and cherished taking the “high road”.
Services will be held in Auman’s, Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading (Exeter Township) on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 11:00 am. Friends and family may view on Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and again on Tuesday from 10:00- 11:00 in the funeral home. Joe will be laid to rest with full military honors in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
