George D. Palm Sr., 88, of Lower Alsace Township, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 203 in the St. Joseph Medical Center where he was a patient since the 15th. He was married to his wife, Frances (Visalli) Palm, for 68 years.
Born in Seifert, he was a son of the late William and Emma (Moyer) Palm.
He was employed with Standard Box Company, Reading, for 30 years and was last employed with Casiano Machine Shop, Birdsboro, until retiring in 1987. He was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stony Creek Mills, and was an avid fan of the Phillies and Eagles. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially loved his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: George D. Palm Jr. and wife, Nicoletta, of Mohnton; and Roger A. Palm and wife, Linda, of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin; also his sister, Manilla Keiper, and brother, Charles Palm, both of Shillington. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Georgette Palm, George Palm III, Roger Palm Jr., Howard Palm, Perry Palm, Christina Wilson and Ashley Palm. Also 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
Services will be held in Auman's Inc., Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reiffton, on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 12:00 noon. Entombment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
