Elizabeth B. Zeswitz 92, passed away Tuesday August 20, 2019 at her Wyomissing residence with surviving daughters, Victoria Paskaly and Lisa Paskaly. Also, by her side, was the highly devoted and loving staff of Home Instead Elder Care as well as Julie Emig (Victoria’s partner). She was preceded by her loving husband of 30 years, William H. Zeswitz, Jr., known as a true leader in the music industry as well as a prominent grassroots developer of the school music programs across the country in the 50’s and 60’s. In the early 70’s, Elizabeth became a co-owner and Vice President of Zeswitz Music and remained there until they both retired in 2001. At one point, she and her husband grew their business to 7 stores at across the state. Together they created the highly respected and very successful business, known to many in the PA and MD areas as The Big Z Warehouse. During that time, Elizabeth created highly effective ‘Collection Method’ techniques. They were so productive that she was called to give seminars to the other music merchants throughout the country.
Elizabeth was born in Reading on July 31, 1927, daughter of Pantellis and Despina (Hadjipavlis) Karniagoras. She was a member of St. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church where she was a lifelong member of Ladies Philoptochos Society. Elizabeth was a 1945 graduate of Reading High School. Her surviving twin sisters are Mary Pettis, widow of Chris Pettis of West Lawn and Lula Goodhart, widow of Richard Goodhart of Wyomissing and 2 grandsons and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was predeceased by her sister Virginia Dilworth, wife of decease Jack Dilworth. Closed casket services will be Tuesday August 27, 2019 at 11am in St. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 E Wyomissing Blvd., Reading PA 19611. Entombment to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
