She was born on July 4, 1930 to Albert and Louise Foster. She lived in a small town by the name of Tate, Saskatchewan until she was 14 years old. When they moved to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, she worked as a stenographer for the Chamber of Commerce. Mom got married to James Edward Ronning and had 5 children; Christine, Paul, Carol, Cathy and Cheryl. They were divorced after 30 years. Mom moved to Calgary, Alberta and later married Douglas Gerrish. They worked together as resident managers of an apartment complex. They loved to golf and went out any day possible (even during a number of storms). They went dancing twice a week. They moved back from Calgary to Regina and live in apartments for 29 years. She lived in Northland Apartments for 15 years. There, she made many good friends and had many good times. The people were great. It was a great time for them until Douglas’ passing in 2011. Her last residence was Oxford Manor where she thrived with her many friends there. She enjoyed her new place; everyone was extremely friendly. She was busy planning to decorate her balcony with plants, etc. She had a new living room chair ordered (it’s still not here). She was excited about Covid being over. Vera was predeceased by her parents; husband Doug; son Paul; daughter Cheryl; son-in-law Kevin Mann; and her brother David. There will be a private service held on Saturday, May 8 at 1:00.
