Selina (Lee) Graham (nee Buitenhuis) of Regina, formerly of Raymore, completed her earth journey on Sept 5, 2013 at Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma will be greatly missed by Jan (George) Watson; Brian (Jo-Ann), Simon (Ferrah) and Dax & Neely, Leanne and Oliver & Felix, and Gina; Laurie (Lindsay) Perry, Keith (Brooke) and Peyton & Kallum, Mark (Lonetta) and Terren & Charlie; Wendy (Wayne) Sherar, Michael (Verenna), Mitchel (Joren), and Meghan; Randy (Laureen), Mark (Megan) and Selina & Clara, Dean, Julie (Jonathan) and Emma & Jack. She leaves behind her beloved sisters, Anne Wilyman, Mary Mitchell, and Myrna Weber, and many precious nieces, nephews and cousins who were very dear to her. Lee was born on July 18, 1924 on the family farm north of Raymore. She began her teaching career at age 18 and it was while teaching at Poplar View School Lee met her one true love, Martin (Grymaloski) Graham. They were married July 9, 1947 in Raymore United Church and 9 years later to the day, Martin's funeral was held in that same church. Lee worked hard to raise her five children on her own. Shortly after going back teaching at Raymore School in 1957, she began to further her education through summer session, correspondence courses and night classes until she earned her BEd. Lee wrote of that special event, "What a glorious day that was! All my family were there. Brian shared my honours as that was the day he received his PhD." Throughout her long teaching career, she influenced many students which was evident to this day by the former students approaching to talk to her. Even though Lee had a crowded schedule, she found time to be an active member of numerous community and church organizations. Across the years and following retirement, Lee enjoyed a wide range of interests and hobbies some of which included bowling, curling, golfing, baking, knitting, playing Bridge & Scrabble, and extensive traveling -from Alaska to Singapore, Ireland to Australia and multiple destinations in between. However, as busy as Lee was, everything would come to a halt if a family member needed help or support; her loved ones' well-being was paramount to her peace of mind. The family extends their thanks to Dr. Zenon Belak for his understanding and attention throughout Mom's illness, and their gratefulness to the doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers at Pasqua Palliative Care who, through their unwavering support, made the last three weeks bearable. A service to celebrate Lee's remarkable life will be held at 1:00p.m. on Saturday, September 14, at Broadway United Church, 105 Broadway Ave, Regina. Because Lee was a loyal Rider fan, anyone who chooses to wear Rider apparel is certainly welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to The Lung Association of Sask, 1231 8th Street East, Saskatoon, SK, S7H 0S5.
