Sarah Dodd (nee Scrimgeour) was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario. At the age of three, the family moved to Regina and as she matured, it became her adopted home. She attended Michael A Riffel High School where Sarah met her lifelong friend Deidra and along the way many other dear friends. Several years after graduating she reconnected with her now former husband Paul Dodd. They produced an amazing son Isaac who is their pride and joy. Isaac was the sunshine in her life. She was so proud of him and spoke of him frequently. Sarah and Paul also had a stillborn baby (Jacob) who is now in Heaven with his Mummy. Sarah was academically inclined and held various positions in management and had a lifelong love of ballet and Irish dancing. She also had a passion and the ability for do-it-yourself renovations which she shared as a volunteer with Camp Monahan, and there, she had found her niche in life. Sarah, being very outgoing, enjoyed life to the fullest.
Sarah will be missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her son Isaac Dodd; mother Jane Scrimgeour; brother Gavin Scrimgeour; niece Meighan Scrimgeor; nephew Andrew Scrimgeour; uncle Gavin Hawgood (UK) and Adam Hawgood; and family (UK).
Upon entering Heaven she was in good company with God; her father Richard; grandmothers Margarita Maria, Lillian, Nana Yvonne; grandfathers Ross and Richard; and aunties Joan and Margo. Her Camp Monahan family took Sarah under their wing and a special thank you to Father Jeff, Lisa and Chad for arranging the service. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the first responders, STARS, the Emergency department of the General Hospital, Dr Lee and the MICU staff, the Transplant program for their care and compassion during the last days of our beautiful mother, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. In death, Sarah gave life to many others and we encourage everyone to register on line to donate upon their demise.
We are so honoured as a family for the outpouring of generosity shown to us and it has truly touched our hearts. The food, phone calls, cards and the many offers of help is so appreciated.
During this very sad and challenging time we are so grateful to Frank and his team at Lee Funeral Home for their kindness and listening to our needs. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Saskatchewan Transplant Program or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. A celebration of Sarah's life will be held on Thursday, June 24th, 2021 by invitation only, due to Covid restrictions. Enjoy dancing with Jesus my darling.
