May 12 1928 – December 17 2011
Angels took Sally peacefully of natural causes from Regina Pioneer Village Care Home, her residence for the past couple years. Sally was born in Poland and was very young when her family moved to Wawota, Saskatchewan. It was in Wawota that Sally met her husband, Steve Kirby, and she moved to Regina. Steve passed away in 1973 leaving Sally with their four sons. Sally enjoyed working at the Regina Inn Convention Center in the late 60’s and 70’s. Sally moved on to a job as personal assistant to Mr. SC Atkinson (General Recorders). Sally is survived by sister Eva (Allan) Beckett; brother Mike (Irene) Woroniak; sons John (Joanne), Wayne (Michelle), Jim (Brenda), Bob (Ann); grandchildren Brian, Laurel (Garrett) Bailey, Justin (Kristine), Neil, Taylor, Graham and Emily. Sally has a surviving life partner of over 30 years, Ed Kocoy, who will miss Sally’s smiles and companionship. Ed will have comfort with Sally’s family as he is truly a member of this family. Sally will be well remembered and truly missed. Service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at 10:00am at the Regina Pioneer Village Chapel located at 430 Pioneer Drive off Dewdney Avenue, with lunch to follow the service. In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Regina Humane Society in Sally’s name. Funeral Director Rachel Bernuy. Arrangements under the direction of Lee Funeral Home and Crematorium, Regina, SK.
