Mary Ann passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2. She will be forever remembered by her loving husband Charles with whom she shared the past 61 years, and their children: Robert (Donna), Eric (Cheryl Ann), Elaine (Tom), Lois (Peter), Glenn (Roberta), Mary Ellen (Darren), Cheryl (Jason), 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Mary Ann is also survived by her sisters Stefania and Anne (Ric), sister-in-law Sister Elaine, family and friends. Mary Ann was predeceased by her daughter Maureen, parents Elizabeth and Frank Groele, and infant sister Katrina. She grew up on the family farm near Outram and went to school in Torquay. She was attending the Academy in Regina when she met Charles. They married in 1958 and lived on the family farm near Balgonie where they built a successful dairy and grain farm. Life was very busy, especially when the children were born, however the freezers were filled with goodies in case anyone stopped by. There was never a reason to leave their house hungry. In 1987 they built a new house and moved into Regina while continuing to help on the farm. Mom enjoyed gardening, socializing and dancing. Polka music was a favorite and together they enjoyed going to polka fests, making many new friends over the years. After moving to the city, mom devoted more time to needlepoint, sewing, cross-stitch and her latest interest, diamond dots. One common thread woven throughout her life was her never ending faith. She believed in God and the Catholic Church, helping wherever she could. She believed in family and saw the good in everyone. She saw the best in all of us and believed in our abilities and dreams. Thank you Mom, for your unfailing kindness and understanding, and for letting us know that we were always loved. You will be forever in our hearts.
