It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marlene Baker after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, April 8, 2018. Marlene was predeceased by her husband Robert; father Lawrence Schaeffer; in-laws Mary and Joseph Baker; and brother-in-law Mac Shirley. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Michelle (Jason) Bender, and Joe (Vanessa) Baker; grandchildren Jayden and Ashton Bender, and Levi and Jake Baker; mother Margaret Schaeffer; siblings Terri (Allan), David (Linda), Edwin (Lynda), Marie (Larry), and sister-in-law Anne Shirley; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Holy Child Parish, 2636 7th Avenue East Regina, SK., at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, special memorial donations in memory of Marlene may be made at the funeral at the family’s request. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the caring staff at both unit 3B at Pasqua Hospital and Wascana Grace Hospice.
