It is with great sadness that the family of Marmy Wagner (Bell) announce her passing on November 28, 2020 at the age of 89. Marmy battled cancer several times throughout her adult life but this latest fight with ovarian cancer was just too much to beat. Marmy was at peace the last month of her life and was very much excited about reuniting with predeceased husband George (2011) and son Brian (1974). Marmy is also predeceased by her parents Henry and Minnie Bell; brothers and sisters Erma, Hazel, Henry, and Bill; and daughter-in-law Yvonne. Marmy is survived by her son Laurie Wagner (Tammy); daughter Bonnie Cowen (Bob); son Pat Wagner (Edie); daughter Bernie Gaucher (Frank); daughter-in-law Susan Wagner; brother Fred Bell; as well as ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Marmy grew up on a farm in the Portreeve area west of Swift Current and this is where she met George. They married in 1950 and stayed in the Lancer area where they farmed for a few years before buying the Coderre hotel in 1960. The family of 6 moved to Regina in 1965 and Bernie, the last of 5 children, was born soon after. After her children grew up and were on their own, Marmy went back to work as a teacher’s aide at St. Francis School. After retiring, Marmy stayed involved with the school and volunteered with helping kids learn to read. Marmy was very involved with her church and held various positions with the CWL. Most recently, Marmy was the president of her condo association. She was a very busy lady and made lots of friends in whatever group or organization she was involved with. The family would like to thank Anne Chase and all the medical staff who cared for Marmy in her final weeks. Due to COVID-19 the Funeral Mass will be private for family and will be held at St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Parish in Regina, SK on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Those who wish to tune into a livestream of the Mass can do so via www.leefunerals.com.
