Margaret Rose O’Krancy (Arnold) died peacefully with family and friends at her side, at Pioneer Village special care home on Sunday July 15, 2012. Margaret (Mom) was born in Waterloo, Ontario on March 3, 1920, to Rose (Werstine) and Charles Arnold. She was the eldest in a family of 10 children, and is survived by brother John (Laura) Arnold, sister Madeline Box, and brother in law Richard Hartman. Mom attended post secondary nursing school. In 1942 she met her husband Michael (Dad), who was in the RCAF, as part of a church function in Clinton. They were married in Drumbo, Ontario on July 13, 1946 following Dad’s service overseas during World War II, and moved west to Saskatchewan. Dad was a school teacher and mom worked as a nurse in Coronach and Montmartre as well as a lab and x-ray technician. In 1976 they retired to Regina, where mom continued to work for several years as a medical secretary and receptionist. Margaret is survived by her children Michael (Sally), and Eileen (Bill) Tuff, grandchildren Michael (Erin), Jennifer, David (Bethany Nilson), Steven, and Rebecca O’Krancy; Sarah, Jessi (Matt) Olsen, and Katherine (Daniel Zuck) Tuff, and great grandchildren Olivia and Avery O’Krancy and Rex and Ben Olsen. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday July 18, at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, 100 Argyle St. N., Regina, Sask., with lunch to follow. Interment will be beside her husband at the Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice is appreciated. We thank the staff of Kennedy Manor, Pasqua Hospital and Pioneer Village for the care and kindness given to Mom over the past two years.
