It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Lorraine Brodt on Monday, February 10, 2020 at the age of 86. She was predeceased by her parents John and Minnie Hamann; the love of her life, husband Herman Brodt in 1994; as well as numerous sisters, brothers and in-laws.
Lorraine is survived by her loving family, children Del (Al) Euteneier, Lynnette (Kevin) Heisler, and Tim (Brenda) Brodt; grandchildren Jason (Nicole), Jalyn (Vadim), Krista (Carlos), Devin, Jillian (Rob) and Danny (Ashlan); great-grandchildren Dylan, Luca, Emma, Hayden, Liam, Serena, Charlotte and Ada; brother Willard Hamann; sister Marlyn Bundus; and sister-in-law Ruth Brodt.
Lorraine was an avid card player and huge sports fan. She enjoyed watching the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Blue Jays and as many Curling Bonspiels as she could. She especially loved to watch her grandchildren participate in their chosen sports and activities. She was thrilled in 2008 when she became a great-grandmother for the first time and equally delighted with the seven great-grandchildren that followed. GG adored them all and they adored her right back.
Lorraine’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the owners and staff of Emmanuel Villa in Emerald Park, SK for their dedication and kindness. As the first resident to move in at the grand opening August 1, 2019, she was welcomed as the “First Lady” and treated like royalty.
Thank you to ER Staff and Dr. Jonathan Hanson at the Pasqua Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Joanne McLeod as well as the nurses on 4D for their respectful and compassionate care.
The Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1909 Ottawa Street, Regina, SK on Friday, February 14th at 11:00 a.m. with lunch to follow immediately after. Interment will be held at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina, SK at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan. You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at www.victoriaavenuefuneral.com
