Linda Patricia Loughran

With sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend on February 15, 2014 after a 3-year battle with cancer. Linda fought with courage, grace and her beautiful smile. Linda was predeceased by her mother, Mary (Pat) Loughran in 1994, and father William (Bill) Loughran in 2002. Linda is lovingly remembered by daughter Chelsea Sweeney (Lesley), and son Jeff Looysen (Amber Fletcher); grandchildren Loughran and Lily Thorson-Looysen and Milo Sweeney; brothers Bill Loughran (Angie), Doug Loughran (Sandra), and sister Lucy Hoseasson (Cliff); numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and several close friends. Born in Yorkton and raised in Wynyard, SK, Linda moved to Regina to become a teacher. She retired to raise her children, returning to the classroom as a substitute teacher, later establishing her own preschool, and finally running a home day care. Upon diagnosis, Linda lived life to its fullest, leaving a lasting legacy of kindness and resilience, inspiring all who knew her. She spent her final days surrounded by family and friends. Her family would like to thank the staff at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, the Palliative unit at Pasqua Hospital, and Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, where Linda was well cared for with an amazing level of dignity and respect. A memorial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2014 to celebrate Linda's life. The service will be held at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 Victoria Avenue E, Regina. Linda will be laid to rest at a later date in Wynyard Cemetery, during a private family internment.
