It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Landon Bryce McKay on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the age of 26 years. He was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan on August 8, 1996.
Landon was predeceased by his maternal great-grandparents Georgina and Gordon Kequahtooway and Agnes and James McKay; grandfather Marshall McKay; paternal grandmother Edna Badger; mother Dana McKay, father Ashley Genaille; brother McKayland Eagles; uncle Eric Kequahtooway; aunt Ruth Anne McKay; sister Monika McKay; and cousin Shanda Perkins.
Landon leaves to mourn his partner Heaven Williams; grandmother Phyllis McKay; sisters Blaze Genaille (Jaymez), Patricia Pelletier (Darnel) and Ilynd McKay (Russlaa); brothers Ryan McKay, Rhythm Eagles and Garret Eagles; special cousins Braiden McKay, Chereese McKay and Daylon Quewzance; aunts Tina Kequahtooway (Cory P.), Tanya Kequahtooway, Bonnie Kequahtooway and Calvina Brass; uncles Donavon Kequahtooway; Avison McKay, Tobin McKay (Brandy) and Edward Badger.
Landon loved to live life to the fullest, he always expressed his love for his entire family. His greetings always came with a warm hug, a kiss, and an "I love you". He had the greatest smile and laugh. He always had the courage and strength to conquer any and all obstacles life gave to him. Landon was the type of person everyone enjoyed being around, he always made sure that anyone in his company felt seen and heard. It wasn't in his character to hold a grudge, he easily forgave, always remaining humble and understanding. Everyone that had the privilege to know him, knew that he put everyone's happiness and well-being above his own. His unique sense of humor and his ability to always see the positive side of things will truly be missed by each and every one of his family members and friends.
A Traditional Wake will be held at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 Victoria Avenue East, Regina, SK on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. A Traditional Feast and Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Elders Wayne Kaye and Rolland Kaye officiating. Interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina, SK at 3:00 p.m.
