John David Shubert, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Kelowna General Hospital, with his family by his side at the age of 74 years. He was born on January 20, 1944 in Chemnitz, Germany, the son of William and Rosa Schubert. John was predeceased by his sister Anna Zurowski, and father William. He is survived by the love of his life, wife Annabelle “Ann”; mother Rosa; brother William Jr. (Linda); daughters Theresa (Bino) Shearer and Marcella Schubert; son Christopher (Susan); five grandchildren, Casey, Jordy, Amanda, Jaina and Taylor; two step-grandchildren Scott and Sarah; two great-grandchildren, five great-great- grandchildren; special goddaughter Crystal as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John served in the Canadian Army for three years. During his working career, he worked at Ipsco, Sask Power, Prairie Plastic Plowing and A.J. Pipeline Construction Ltd. He was a pipeline welder for most of his working years. His passion was Antique Cars and he also owned and restored a few. He made friends wherever he went in his pipelining career and also spending 25 years down south in Mesa, Arizona. He was known for his joke telling, stories and Hearty Laughter.
A Memorial Service will be held at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 East Victoria Avenue, Regina on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens.
