Harvey A Herauf

Harvey passed away peacefully on Friday, June 15, 2012 in Red Deer, Alberta, on a golf holiday with friends. Harvey was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on January 23, 1939 to Frank & Kate Herauf. He attended St. Stephen’s Elementary School in the Odessa, Saskatchewan area, close to Hill Top Farm where he was raised. He attended Campion College in Regina for high school. Immediately after high school he enlisted in the R.C. A. F. where he spent the next 35 years, including many international postings. Upon retirement he returned home to Odessa, SK until recently moving to Regina. Harvey was predeceased by his wife June (Spence) in 2003, his daughter Carole in 2009, his father Frank in 1996 & his mother Kate in 2004. Harvey is survived by his daughter Julie (Michael) Jugovics of Edmonton, Alberta; special friend Jo-Ann Cameron; siblings Yvonne (Steve) Hryhoriw, Cyril (Shirley), Judy (John Hamm) Dreher, Lorne (Lynn), Maurice (Dorothy) & Sally (Keith) Schneider & a large extended family which includes many of June’s siblings & relatives & a wide circle of friends. Harvey loved sports, both as a participant & as a fan. Harvey was well known for his large garden which provided bountiful vegetables for many family members & friends. A visitation for family & friends will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 East Victoria Avenue. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Odessa, Saskatchewan. Interment to follow at Odessa Cemetery.
