Greg was born on December 2, 1958 in Louisbourg, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. He graduated from Riverview High in 1976 and went on for post- secondary to Holland College where he graduated with a degree in Police Studies.
In 1980 he travelled across the country to start his career with the Regina Police Service and served until 2005 when he retired at the age of 45. After a brief retirement, Greg took on his second career as the Chief Executive Officer for the John Howard Society. Greg spent a lot of time helping people and found great joy in seeing positive change in people’s lives.
He was a proud “Papa” to all of his 8 grandchildren. He had a great passion for motorcycles and Sunday rides with his RPS buddies, especially the ‘Grumpy Old Bikers’, who brought him so much joy. He was always up for a good banter regarding his favourite sports teams. The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was Elton John’s biggest fan and would travel across the country to see his concerts.
As per Greg’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. However he will be laid to rest in Nova Scotia at a later date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Greg’s name to the John Howard Society of Saskatchewan, Regina Branch.
