George William Park passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 3, 2013. George was born on July 19, 1917 on Glencarith farm near Saltcoats, Saskatchewan. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Belva (nee Dauncey); children, Jim (Jane), Bill (Kirsten Nash), Lorelee Weir (Dick); as well as 7 grand children, Amy Gillert (Wendell), Michael Park (Amanda), Samuel Park (Brittanie), William Park, Andy Weir, Austin Park, Jesse Park; 6 great grandchildren, Azra Park, Nika Park, Osias Park, Parker Gillert, Alice Park and Charlie Park. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Dorothy Dauncey, Shirley Dauncey and Phyllis Higgins, as well as many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents James and Jessie Park; brother John Park and his wife Ida; as well as in-laws, Herb Dauncey, Nelson and Mabel Dauncey, Sidney Dauncey and Lloyd Higgins. George worked on the family farm as a young man as well as selling Fuller Brush and Cressy Products. He joined the army in 1939 and spent 5 years overseas during WWII. He returned to the family farm in 1946 and married Belva in 1947. George, Belva and family moved to Regina in 1957 where George worked at the Regina Jail, Co-op Creamery, and The Provincial Government Maintenance Dept. He then sold Mutual Funds followed by a successful Amway business followed by a Rawleigh/Golden Pride Network in which he enjoyed much success, finally retiring shortly before his 94th birthday. George was an active committee member for many school, church and community organizations. George and Belva have resided at Broadway Terrace since it opened and have embraced the lifestyle it affords. A FUNERAL SERVICE for family and Broadway Terrace Residents will be held, with an Interment at a later date
