Garry Hodel October 9, 1960 to April 13, 2017 With immense sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Garry. Garry was predeceased by his father Otto Hodel (2005) and sister Loretta Topham (2009). He will be dearly missed by so many - his loving wife Lynn, sons Joshua Hodel and Cole Heglin (Patti), daughters Jessie Hodel (Candice) and Deany Heglin, grandchildren Aizlynn, Liam and Nora, mother Helen Hodel, sister Diane Heilman (Dick), brothers Dwayne Hodel and Grant Hodel (Connie), sister-in-law Andrea Legault, Diane Gunderson mother to Joshua and Jessie and numerous nephews, family and friends who had special places in his heart. Garry's heart was enormous and he was an incredibly generous person, giving freely of his time, wisdom and love. He continued giving to the end by being part of the organ transplant program. Garry also had such a fun sense of humour and was able to lift anyone's spirits when they were down.Garry has always been a hard working person. He grew up quickly helping with the family farm at a very young age. He provided for his own young family as a bricklayer often working away from home. Garry worked for RHI Refractory for over 20 years and worked his way up to become a supervisor. Garry was a true tradesman and took so much pride in his work. He made many many lifelong friends throughout his bricklaying career.Garry was always busy, never idle. You seldom saw him rest and relax. He was always doing something and was a master at "macgyvering". Garry loved hunting and fishing and making sausage with the guys, but didn't find time in his later years to enjoy this enough.Family and friends were Garry's top priority. He always made a point to keep in touch with everyone. He loved to share his knowledge and experience with his kids whenever possible, teaching them many valuable life lessons and skills. He truly treasured every moment he spent with his kids and grandkids and loved them so much.A celebration of Garry's life will be held Friday April 21, 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Regina German Club Lounge 1727 St. John Street, Regina. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make a donation to a charity of their choice may do so. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/leaderpost/obituary.aspx?n=garry-hodel&pid=185111301#sthash.wgaZC9od.dpufArrangements under the direction of Victoria Avenue Funeral Home and Cremation, Regina, SK.
