Frank Getz

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Francis Xavier Michael Getz, more commonly known as Frank Getz. He passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 4, 2023. Frank was born on July 9, 1937 to Peter Getz and Emma Getz (nee Staudt) in the small town of Odessa, SK. He married Linda Getz (nee Hehn) on August 8, 1981 and lovingly raised three children, Brenda Wendel, Xavier Getz and Christina Getz. Frank led a rich and vibrant life that was full of love, happiness and faith. He served his community as a carpenter at the General Hospital for over 25 years. He also farmed the family land near Cupar, SK during this time and well into his retirement. He was always willing to lend a hand when requested. Many called him Dad, and even more called him Grandpa. Frank was also known as a number one fan at hockey and ringette games, as he was the guy with the bell in his hand. He was a collector of jokes and always seemed to remember them off the top of his head at just the right times. Dad, grandpa, great-grandpa you will truly be missed. May you rest in peace. Frank joins his parents Peter and Emma; brothers and sisters Isabel, Rose, Anton, Agatha, Lawrence, Barbara, Annette in Heaven. He lives in the hearts and memories of his wife Linda; brother Gordon and his wife Alice; sister Delores and husband Roy; daughter Brenda and her husband Garth; grandchildren Rikki (Andrew), Gage (Jade), Brett (Keara); great-grandchild Emmalea; son Xavier; daughter Christina and her fiancée Taylor; grandchildren Drayden (Marissa), Kalowyn and Jax. Also to be mentioned, daughter Belinda, husband Robert, daughter Kelly, son Darcy, and all their children; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Frank's life with be held on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. 2026 Winnipeg St, Regina, SK.
