Edith was born on a farm in the Hodgevile district where she remained to proudly serve as a Nurses Aid in the very first shift at the Hodgeville community hospital. In 1957, she married her lifelong love and farming partner Steve and raised their family in the Kelstern district. Edith prided herself in her homemaking, culinary artistry and the pride in which she took raising their family while operating the family farm. Despite her move to Regina in the fall of 2000, Edith remained actively involved in her farming business until her passing taking great pride in the fact that they had a “good crop, wasn’t that good?” and had to build additional bins to hold the harvest. Edith learned her culinary skills from her cherished mother and took great pride in the fact that her homemade bread and cabbage rolls were always devoured at family gatherings. She loved farm life and still missed its rewards long after retiring to Regina. She was a devote Catholic committed to her Roman Catholic faith and her church. She loved to crochet, embroider and knit and was an avid choir member loving to sing whenever the opportunity presented itself. She was deeply committed to both family and the principle of “hard work pays off” which she lovingly instilled in her children.
