Debbie was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, and raised in Red Deer. In her teens she moved to Calgary to live with Mom and finish high school. In Calgary, she met the love of her life, and got married. Soon after, they moved to Regina to fulfill the next chapter of her life; children, memories and a career. Debbie was all about family, the outdoors, camping, fishing, gardening (beautiful flowers), and spending as much time as she could with her granddaughters.
Mourning her loss is her beloved husband of 47 years Norbert; her loving sons Norbert Jr. (Christine), Curtis (Ashley), Chris (Kara); her granddaughters Callie and Brooklyn; step-grandchildren Ava, Lexi and Jayne; her 3 brothers Jim (Annie) Riley, Mitch (Barb) Riley, and Kim Riley; step-brothers Lawrence (Val) Rangen, Darcy Rangen; and step-sisters Monica Matson and Elaine (Perry) Unger; sisters-in-law Lynda (John) and Gwenda; brother-in-law Denny (Debbie); numerous nieces and nephews; as well as some of the greatest cousins; and her SaskTel family of 42 years.
Debbie was predeceased by her grandparents; her father Bill (Lyla) Riley; her mother Edith )Don) Bergen; and dad and mom Lenius (Norbert and Allace).
Grateful thanks to the Allan Blair Cancer Center, the Doctor Chalchal and nurse John, the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Dr. Baumann and Dr. Johnson, as well as all the nurses who cared for her. We cannot thank you enough. We also want to thank three special friends who were by Deb’s side throughout her whole cancer journey: Marietta, Diane and Charmaine.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Holy Child Parish, 2636 7th Avenue E, Regina, SK. A private family interment will follow at a later date.
