We are sad to announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie, sister and friend. Cecile passed away peacefully with family by her side. Cecile is predeceased by her husband Joseph; nine siblings, and her parents. She will be dearly missed by her five children; Elaine (Bud) Krauss, Carol (Ron) Watson, Denise (Ken) Petruic, Raymond (Charlene) Jelinski, and Lee-Anne Jelinski (Wayne Patsack); 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, three sisters, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Cecile was born and raised in Gravelbourg, SK to Aldége and Gracia Boucher. During the war she worked in Toronto at a munitions factory before returning to Saskatchewan to attend Normal School. Cecile taught at Willow Bunch, Mazenod, Willows and Claybank. While teaching in Claybank, a fellow named Joseph Jelinski caught her eye. They married in 1947 and enjoyed 37 years together. In the early years they operated a farm implement business, farmed and ran a grocery store in Avonlea. In 1973, Joe and Cecile moved to Regina. Cecile loved to socialize and was always on the go! Her many interests included sewing, knitting, making stained glass, playing cards, singing in various choirs, dancing and volunteering at churches and local boards. She was a prolific reader and loved to travel. In her later years, she enjoyed dressing up, planning and performing at senior events.
Throughout her 93 years, Cecile maintained a youthful spirit, independent nature and a positive attitude. We will fondly remember her laugh, her smile, and her zest for life.
Special appreciation to the kind staff at Grace Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to the Salvation Army Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK, S4R 8P6.
Please join us for a celebration of Cecile's life, held on
