It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Andrew David, husband of Lyla Lavallee. David was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and passed on Sunday May 10, 2015. David is the beloved husband of 30 years to Lyla Lavallee. David was predeceased by his mother Doris Redman and father Hughie Bear; sisters Shirley Ann Redman, Mariah Bear, Nettie Keyes and Verna Taypotat; brothers Stanley (Skeezie) Bear, Alvin Redman; as well as numerous cousins and relatives. Left to mourn his passing are God-child Landon Redman, step-children Kevin & Agnes Bellegarde, Shawn Bellegarde, Michelle Lee Bellegarde & children; numerous grandchildren; sisters Marlene Delorme, Audrey Langer-Redman, Judy Taylor, Sharon Yuzicappi, Jean Redman and Cynthia Montes; brothers Calvin Redman and Robert Redman; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Kevin Waddell, Pat Eisler and Todd Nichol. After many years of working for CN and CP Rail, Andrew David went back to school. He received his B.ED from the University of Regina (SIFC) in 1999. Andrew David was a teacher, and he had a special dedication and commitment to the students and staff of Cumberland House Cree Nation, where he taught for the past 13 years. Michelle would like to express her gratitude for having a father and grandfather to her children for his unconditional love and commitment. Appreciation towards the Little Black Bear and Cumberland House Chief & Council, Standing Buffalo Chief & Council & Elder’s Group, First Responders and Medical Staff and neighbors of Cumberland House Cree Nation, friends and family for your support.
