September 23, 1943 - June 5, 2023
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Alan on Monday, June 5th. He was predeceased by his father Francis and mother Margery Cockman, in-laws Eric and Isobel March. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Anne, devoted companion Bear, daughter Claire, son Graham (Roxanne) grandsons Gabriel, Greyson, close friends Steve, Linda, Amanda, Nicolas and (Amy) Fisher, Judy, Olive, Leslie Chapman, Joseph AbiEzzi, Russ and Judy Haukeness.
To the very special staff at the Pasqua ICU, a very heartfelt thank you. Your support and kindness through Sunday night and early hours on Monday went over and above - thank you.
Alan was born in London. He moved to Wales shortly after marrying Anne. Some years later they moved to Edmonton, Alberta where Alan worked as consultant for Peat Marwick Mitchel. They moved to Saskatchewan when he was offered a position with SGI. In 2001, while still working for SGI, Alan was appointed President of The American Motor Vehicle Association for one year - the first Canadian to to hold that position. After he retired he returned to private consulting.
Some of Alan’s many interests and passions were motor racing, music (from Cajun to Classic), British humour: Monty Python, Faulty Towers, The Goons, trivia of all kinds, limericks, puns and political satire. He had a wide ranging interest in world affairs
