November 1st, 1931 to October 28th, 2022
We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Aime Perras.
Predeceased by his wife Annette, and sons Claude and Gye, Aime is survived and remembered by his children Larry, Jeannette (Tom) daughter Kristina (Aaron) - Claire, and one on the way, and son Tyler (Jackie) - Ellie and Ava; Jackie (Murray) daughter Jenna – and her son Mateo.
Aime was the eldest of 7 children, Emile, Laurentia, Rita, Agnes and predeceased by his parents Laurent and Antoinette, and brother Gerry and sister Jeannine.
The last of his kind, a French-Canadian son who took over the family farm, a small farm, Aime always worked hard to provide for his family. He did all the construction, mechanics and assorted jobs required for farming and could pretty much fix anything. And it was not always easy. But we always had what we needed. Aime and Annette showed resilience through the hard times and enjoyed travelling and seeing family and new places. And like Annette, Aime never needed to be asked twice to offer help, mostly not even needing to be asked.
And polka music and playing crib were always present.
Aime was not afraid of change. In addition to having cattle, pigs, and crops, he also held many jobs during his farming life: a school bus driver, a gas truck driver, an RM councillor, a member of the Indian Head Museum board, among many other positions. He was a proud, long-term member of the Knights of Columbus. And he loved changing things up often: cars, places to live and more recently scooters and walkers. And he loved taking things apart, curious about how they could be better.
He had an amazing memory, often telling stories about the old days, which included many specific dates, places and people, often from decades ago.
We’ll miss you Dad, Pepere, great grandpa, father-in-law, brother and friend.
**Honouring Aime’s request, no official service will be held. A private family interment will take place in Montmartre, SK at a later date.
