Aggie was born in Sedley to Peter and Emma (Stoudt) Getz. She was fourth in a sib line of ten children. One day after church in 1944, she was introduced to Adam Mack. They courted and were married on October 29, 1946. In the spring of 1948, her and Adam moved to Riceton to begin their journey together where they farmed and raised their five children. After they moved to Regina in 1973, Aggie worked at Woolco, Reitmans and then began working at Zellers Normanview in 1977, where she worked until her retirement in 1993.
Aggie was a vibrant, energetic woman with a zest for life who remained active up until her recent illness. She had an unmatched sharp wit and sense of humor about her -- there was never a dull moment when Aggie was around. She was an accomplished seamstress, baker, cook, homemaker, gardener and her hands were never idle. There was always a steady stream of company at her home, whether it was family, friends, relatives or neighbors. You could always be guaranteed that you would be served coffee, baking or an invite for a meal. She gained many admirers throughout her life, whether it was through work, social activities or friendships. Aggie loved people unconditionally and always assumed the best. Her family and everyone who knew her loved and respected her for her kind and caring nature.
Aggie was predeceased by her husband Adam in 2002; her parents Peter and Emma; siblings Isabel (Harold) Pendelton, Rose Dumba, Tony Getz, Lawrence (Arlene) Getz, Barbara (Peter) Kehler and Annette (Clarence) Konanz. Over the last fifteen years, Mom had a special friend and neighbour who would stop in and check on her daily. They would sit out in the gazebo, drink coffee, laugh and talk for hours. Thank you, Maureen Lichtenwald, for the love, compassion and friendship you provided Mom over the years.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Carol Geddes, the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital, William Booth Wascana Grace Hospice, and Unit 2-6 at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for the wonderful care they provided Mom over the last three months.
