Adam passed peacefully at home (Marie Manor) on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. He was predeceased by his wife Theresa (Kirsch) in 2015. He was also predeceased by his parents, Frank and Amelia Huber, three sisters, Julia (George Cleal), Mary (Leo Sitter), and Marlene (Bill Dinnen), as well as his grandson Todd Huber. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jim & Elaine (Eberts), Joanne (Larry Raynard), Maureen & Mike Mochnacz, Brian & Janette (Fisher); his grandchildren, Paul & Tanis (Wood) Huber, Brett & Kristi Huber, Ryan (Tamara McKay) and Renee Mochnacz, along with three great grandchildren, Jackson, Keaton and Charlotte Huber. He leaves behind one brother, Anton & Agnes Huber, and a special brother Harold & Bonnie Desjarlais. Adam also cherished his many nephews and nieces. Adam was born on October 26, 1921 at Lipton, SK, where he grew up and finished his Grade 12. He went to work for the Kirsch family as a farmhand. He would ride his bike to and from the farm, where he met the apple of his eye and married the farmer’s daughter, Theresa in 1942, while Dad was on leave from the Airforce. During his time in the Airforce, Mum and Dad travelled together across Canada while Dad worked as a communications expert (Morse Code). After the war, they moved back to Saskatchewan. Adam managed the Security Lumber Yards in Jansen and Prelate. In Regina, he worked for Ashdowns, (which became Acklands) first as a travelling salesman, then as their bookkeeper. During his summer holidays in Regina, he also worked at the Exhibition Racetrack. Dad was a hard worker. His parents, wife and family were his priority. Dad loved to dance. When in Regina, Mum and Dad joined The Happy Hearts Square Dance Club, which they belonged to for 42 years where they made many friends. After moving from their home on 12 block McIntosh, they moved down the street to Benson Manor where they made even more friends. They loved to socialize. Dad was an avid reader, right up to the final couple of weeks. He and Mum played cards a lot, too. His favourite game was cribbage. Dad and Mum travelled a bit. They made a trip to the Bahamas, to Germany & Austria, Texas, Las Vegas, Alberta, and BC. We have been very fortunate to have such loving parents in our lives. We could not have wished for anyone better. Special thanks to Sharon and Bruce and staff at Marie Manor for their loving care these past three years. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Cecilia R.C. Church, 5020 7th Ave., Regina on Saturday, October 21, at 10:30am. Everyone is welcome, and those wishing, may make a donation to a charity of their choice in memory of Adam.
