Gary Lee Smith was born on August 28, 1946, to Betty Lou and Charles Henry Smith, his loving parents. After Charles left the Navy, they raised their children in the Visalia area. Gary and his brother Greggory enjoyed many adventures together as they grew up. Our father started very early in produce sales, as our grandmother shared a story of going into the family garden and finding all the vegetables were gone…Dad had been selling the vegetables to the neighbors! He later became a meat cutter, manager, and farmer. His greatest joys included time on the tractor, enjoying the peaceful moments in the vines, among the trees, or with the bees. Other happy times included deep-sea fishing, hearing stories of his grandchildren’s successes, and eating pie and ice cream for dinner. The legacy he leaves behind is the importance of a strong work ethic, which he passes on to all his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Preceding his death were his mother, father, and wife Sandra. His surviving brother, Greggory, and his wife, Margie, along with his surviving children, Wendy Hernandez, Jason Smith, Andrea Vetter, Scott Cardinalle, and Jon Cardinalle, and their families, invite you to celebrate his life on May 9, 2025, at Reedley Cemetery at 9:00 a.m.
