July 17, 1924 - October 23, 2024
Eleanor Louise Waite was a joyful, uplifting presence in the lives of all who knew her. Born in Glendale, California, to Theodore John Nettekoven III and Hellen Gertrude Nettekoven, she grew up alongside her brother William Eugene Nettekoven. In 1943, she married Erwin V. Waite in Boise, Idaho, and together they had five sons.
Eleanor was a member of the Megland Kiddies Dance Troupe (1937–1940) and shared her passion for dance by tutoring students. Her creativity extended to painting, and her hand-painted cards, especially her Christmas "Eleanor Originals," were treasured by family and friends.
A longtime Redondo Beach resident since 1950, Eleanor was active in her community and church, serving as a welcoming usher at American Martyrs Church. Later, she enjoyed gaming with her friends from church and Perry Park, always bringing warmth and encouragement to those around her.
Her greatest joy was her family, which includes 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Eleanor passed away on October 23, 2024, in Torrance, California. Her legacy of love and kindness will forever be remembered by her family, friends, and neighbors.
Mass at 10 AM at American Martyrs January 25th, 2025 in Manhattan Beach, CA.
