William (Bill) Allen Dangel, age 70, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024, at his home on Ames Lake in Redmond, Washington. He was the beloved husband of Cyndia (Cindy) (Stewart) Dangel, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.
Born in Kirkland, Washington on November 21, 1953, Bill was the cherished fair haired son of William Steven Dangel and Virginia (Fiest) Dangel. He graduated from Lake Washington High School and went on to establish his own heavy machinery mechanic shop in South Seattle, Bill’s Mobile Service, which he successfully operated for 40 years with his wife Cindy. Through his dedication to the family businesses, he ensured that an entire community of drivers, vendors, mechanics, and small family owned and operated transportation businesses could maintain their living and keep Seattle’s waterfront, rail yards, and commerce hubs moving and thriving.
Bill will be remembered as an extremely hard worker, a kind and charitable community member, and one of the best and most creative mechanics in Seattle. His laughter was contagious, and his help was offered freely (or at highly discounted prices). Most importantly, his impact will continue to be felt by those that will remember him as a mentor, teacher, a loyal friend, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Bill was the reliable, skilled, friendly, unselfish, and reassuring help that was always one call away.
He is survived by wife, Cindy and his four children and their families:
1. Bonnie L’Heureux (eldest daughter), her husband Michael, and sons Jeffery (partner: Michelle) and Quinn (wife: Mary).
2. Angela Cerna (middle daughter), her husband David, daughter Taylor (husband: Cody), and granddaughter Mila. He is joining their beloved angel son, Hunter.
3. Sara Smith (youngest daughter), her husband Regan, son Carson, and daughter Zoe.
4. William James Dangel (son, another “Bill”) and his wife Lauren.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held on his birthday, November 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Redmond Ridge Community Center.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
