We are deeply saddened at the passing of our beautiful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and long-time friend, Rosalind Christensen, age 82. Rosalind passed away at her home in Redmond, WA, with her husband and children at her side on the morning of April 9, 2024.
Rosalind was born July 16, 1941, in Marshfield, WI, and moved to Milwaukee a few years later. She was the oldest of three daughters. Rosalind graduated from Bay View High School in 1959 and the University of Wisconsin in 1963 with a major in History and a minor in Political Science. In July 1965, she married Army Lieutenant Marth Christensen. While Marth served his country in Vietnam, Rosalind continued living in Wisconsin. Upon Marth’s return from the second tour of duty, they spent time in Germany, Madison, Leavenworth, El Paso, and Manassas. In May 1980, prior to the Mount St. Helens eruption, Rosalind, Marth, and their children moved to Seattle. Rosalind worked as a teaching aid for special needs children and later studied and worked as a legal aid.
Rosalind loved to travel and believed you would not be the same once traveling to the other side of the world. Together Rosalind and Marth traveled to Australia, New Zealand, China, Russia, England, Italy, Germany, and her favorite, Prague during Christmastime.
Rosalind was an avid Wisconsin Badgers fan. She also enjoyed watching the Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks and found herself rooting for the “offense” whenever they played the Green Bay Packers. In her free time, Rosalind loved to sew, cross stitch, knit, and quilt and would frequently gift her beautiful pieces to family and friends. Rosalind enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and listening to classical music. Above everything else, she loved her friends and family.
Rosalind is survived by Marth, husband of 58 years, son Stephen (Jenni) and daughter Deana (Eric), grandchildren Megan and Scott, numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sylvia and Edward Reich, and her sisters Geraldine Bohne and Jacqueline Borth.
A celebration of life will be held on May 30, 2024, at 4 p.m. at the Trilogy Lodge in Redmond, WA (23225 NE Greens Crossing Rd).
