Shirley Adeline Martin Goerke

Shirley Adeline Goerke, a lifelong resident of Redford Township, Michigan, was born in Detroit on June 6, 1924 to the late James and Nettie Martin. She passed away in her Redford, Michigan home on September 20, 2012 at the age of 88.

Shirley was the beloved wife of the late Richard Robert "Pick" Goerke for over 50 years until his death in 1994. Loving mother of Barbara (the late Daniel) Scheck, Carl (Cynthia Harris) Goerke and the late Martin Robert Goerke. Shirley is survived by her brother Donald (the late Irene) Martin. She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Charlene Sierakowski, Joseph Goerke, Julie Freigang, Marci Blankenship, Karen Benz, Meghan Jamerino, Laurel Eisen, Erin Lowery, Carly Goerke, Kevin Goerke, Kimberly Delorme and Matthew Emerick. Great-grandchildren; Martin Sierakowski, Luke & Grace Freigang, Liesl, Marta, James, Emma & Heidi Blankenship, Abigail & Caleb Benz, Dylan Eisen, CJ, Anna & Mackenzie Lowery, Justin Goerke, Kevin & Cassandra Neidenthal. A large extended family including Donald and Bella.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents, her brother Norwood Martin, her sister Elsie Martin, her son Martin Goerke, and her great-grandchild Kendall Lowery.

There will be a Memorial Service at 11:00am, led by Reverend Milton R. Schemm, on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. Gathering and Visiting will begin at 10:30am until the time of the service.
