Mark earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, where he set out to become an accountant, a profession he pursued for several years. A moment of serendipity changed the course of his life when he won a Reader's Digest contest, earning $10,000. Mark used this windfall to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming a licensed pilot, a hobby that brought him immense joy. He loved sharing this passion for flying with his family, especially his siblings, creating cherished memories that will live on.
A devout Christian, Mark was an active and devoted member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Livonia, Michigan, where he found both community and spiritual fulfillment. His faith was central to his life, and his love for God was reflected in his actions and relationships. Above all, Mark was deeply devoted to his family, and he treasured the time spent with them.
Mark is survived by his loving siblings, Diane Christianson and James Edwards, and seven nieces and nephews, all of whom he took great pride in and loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Loraine Edwards; his beloved wife, Laura Shearer; and his siblings, Cynthia Kluq and Frederick Edwards Jr.
