Howard Nowlan was born July 9, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Howard and Genevieve Nolan. He graduated from Catholic Central High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Howard loved his work as a plumber as well as his Cadillac cars. He lived many years at St. Hilary Catholic Church and was very active at the parish. He will be remembered as a talkative, social man who was always present at any event involving his family.
Howard is survived by his brother, Fr. John Nowlan and his sister Janet Nowlan, as well as 14 nieces and nephews and 30 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, the late Margaret (the late Patrick) Corey, the late Mary Grace Nolan and his brother, the late Joe (Glory) Nolan. He will also be missed by his dear friend Marge.
Friends may visit Howard's family at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 25450 Plymouth Road in Redford, Michigan 48239 on Friday December 2, 2011 from 3 pm until 9 pm. During the visitation, a Scripture Service will be prayed in his memory at 7 pm. The funeral home is located on the north side of Plymouth Road between Telegraph and Beech Daly Roads.
Funeral services for Howard will be on Saturday December 3, 2011 at St. Hilary Catholic Church, located at 23901 Elmira in Redford, Michigan 48239. Howard will lie in state at the church from 9:30 am until his funeral Mass at 10 am. The church is located south of Plymouth Road and east of Telegraph.
A 2nd Memorial Service with an Army Air Force Fly-over and a Taps Ceremony will be held at a later date at:

Howard will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan
