Robert was born in Peoria, Illinois and the son of Lilly French and Henry A. Herring.
He leaves behind his wife Madeline, his only surviving brother Henry and wife Eileen, one son Bobby Herring, a daughter Cindy Meade and his step-daughter Denise Morey, eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Robert was a handyman here in Redding and has resided here since 1987. He was an accomplished poet and song writer.
Robert was a Naval Korean War Veteran and a lifetime member of the VFW.
Services will be held at Lawncrest Memorial Chapel at 12 p.m. on Wednesday December 21, 2011
