He was a devoted family man and leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Frances Hergoth, his daughters Deborah Hergoth, Sheri Harral, and Karen Dethlefsen, along with 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Peter served in the Navy Patrol Squadron 42 as an Aviation Electrician and then moved on to work as an Assistant Lineman for PG&E in developing and setting in place the 250 KV line from Canada to California. He later retired from the Bureau of Reclamation after serving 16 years as a Drafting Engineer and Guide for Shasta Dam.
Peter was very involved in his local community, volunteering as an Assistant Fish and Wildlife Warden as well as a Fireman and EMT for Shasta County Fire Department. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus with St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He enjoyed camping and the outdoors with his family and friends, fresh air and the wind behind his back. He will truly be missed.
