She attended various grammar schools in Shasta County where her mother was teaching.
She graduated from Shasta Union High School in 1945 and then graduated from the College of the Pacific in Stockton in 1949.
She was a social worker for the Shasta County Welfare Dept. and then was a teacher for special education children with the Shasta County Schools Office for 32 years. She retired in June, 1983.
She married Edward Harold Vaughn in 1950. They had two sons; Kirk and Kent.
Pat belonged to Delta Kappa Gamma, a teachers' honorary society, the California Retired Teachers Assoc., Mt. Shasta Division, #16 and also belonged to the Shasta Historical Society.
She is survived by sons, Kirk and Kent; granddaughter, Kalli, and grandson, Coleton.
