Molly Ann Powell

Molly Ann Powell was born on Sept. 11 1937 in Sacramento CA and died on Dec. 16 2019 in Redding. She grew up in Alturas, CA with her parents Harry and Geneva Wilson and younger sister Peggy. She is survived by Carl, her husband of 63 years, sons Mike (Margaret), and Jeff (Kathy), sister Peggy McManus, grandchildren Brenda and Eddie, and 4 great grandchildren, Hailee, Jillian, Joey and Georgia, who knew her as “GG”. She was preceded in death by her parents and son Dennis. She graduated from Modoc High School in 1955. Molly and Carl attended the same schools in Alturas and started dating in High School. They married in Nov. 1956. She was very active in school functions with her sons; PTA, field trips and school parties. She was a Cub Scout den mother for all her boys, and was very supportive in all of their sporting events. She was an avid bowler and served as her bowling leagues secretary for many years. When she wasn’t busy with bowling she was sewing, knitting or crocheting a gift for someone.
