Born October 30, 1958, he was the eldest son born to the late Lewis F. Cox and Eddie L. Blanco.
Louis obtained his GED in the late 70s and went back to school and graduated in 1997 with a high school diploma from Anderson Union High School. In the meantime, he focused on his career to support his growing family.. He spent the majority of his career as a school bus driver for the Anderson Union High School District. He worked there for 17 years. He also worked for the City of Anderson as a Maintenance Supervisor. He then worked for various local trucking companies until he purchased his own company "Louis Cox Trucking" in 2008. After experiencing some serious medical problems issues, he sold his truck and switched his focus to being the world’s Best Grandpa. His family and friends were his pride and joy and he also loved singing along to old country music.
Louie is survived by his significant other, Cheri Hall of Anderson; his children, Ryan Cox, of Coos Bay, OR, Joseph Cox, of Wenatchee, WA, Rebecca McClung and Benjamin Cox both of Anderson; his stepdaughters, Donna Hernandez of Anderson, and Crystal Trammell of Redding; his twin sister, Victoria Rehg of Red Bluff; brothers, Michael Cox of Anderson, and Greg Cox of California; and 5 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life is being held from 1pm – 3pm, Saturday November 19, 2016, at Lawncrest Chapel at 1522 East Cypress Avenue, Redding, CA 96002.
